Ring World

Hey guys, I have a project that I’m currently working on. Basically I need to create a ring world just like in Halo.

Only a block of it will be needed for characters to run around in and the rest will need to be created to visually show the rest of the land masses in the ring. So far what I’ve done is created a terrain in unity and adjust the size (about 500x500) of it to fit the desired area/block, placed my models to create a city, and sculpted the terrain around it.

What I was thinking of doing next is to create 2 other terrain blocks of the same size as in Unity (500x500) in Blender that will be placed a long each side of the main terrain, though they won’t be used, just for visual. Then paint the rest of the land/water in the ring.

Any input or any other suggestions to approach this would be greatly appreciated.

In Halo it’s just a skybox. I’ve a feeling that the other islands in the far distance are, too - it’s all very simple

Lol that’s just a skybox. No way anything can render all that stuff :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool well thanks for the input guys.

Anyway, I think I pretty much got it. I basically just created the needed landscapes, placed them accordingly on the ring structure and will just paint the rest of the landscape in the distance.
