So me and a friend of mine have been working on a little 3D puzzle game. Some of you might have seen it on the ‘work in progress’ section. The game is called RoboMinion and you can get acces to it over at Desura: RoboMinion
Our target platforms are(thanks to Unity): PC/Mac/iOS and Android.
We are making use of the alpha-funding program over there, so you can get early acces for a lower price, and you’re welcome to shred the game to pieces All feedback helps us make the game better.
I will try and find out how to generate some free keys to give out on these boards. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions and let us know what you think!
Here’s some screenshots:
And a video:
There is more screens on the Desura page. I will be posting more technical stuff about the game soon, and probably will share some of the shaders etc as well. Hope you like it
Oh wow, thanks guys! @charliesamways
Glad you like the art, I’m the artist/programmer while my friend is pure programmer. Getting this look is VERY easy, in fact, I might make a post on how I did it. The hard part was experimenting with different styles. The game looked 100% different in the start, but through iterations, it started to form into what you currently see
Thanks guys!
I will be recording more video soon, also showing some of the tools/editors we use. And I guess I could share the shaders as well, they are not that special.
Right now I have made my first dev-blog entry on how we make our puzzles, perhaps someone likes to find out
Thanks for that. I had been working on a small Sokoban framework but shelved it once it worked since I couldn’t come up with any challenging maps for it.
Thank you guys for the kind words, it seems the the graphics turned out alright. I just wanted to show that( for us at least) it wasn’t a matter of just creationg the art. We had to go through several styles before we could land here. So if you’re having trouble nailing down the art-style you have in mind, keep trying.
Here is a comparison with our older art and new:
Osmant, I had sent you an email a while back in regards to the texture work, If you have the time I would very much like to see how you have formed the textures. Im sure many of us here are curious in fact, Really stunning, can’t get over its purdyness.
