Thought I’d post my RPG Dice roller application here as well. Some of you may remember me looking for a programmer to help me with this little application and I am happy that I found “Ricardo” which is also known as “Arges” on this forum. Well that’s a question for Ric He is the math genius and programmer. I am only responsible for the looks (modeling, texturing, lighting, GUI elements) of this application. I am sure he will give you some feedback on how the dice calculation was done later.
The sound sounds very artificial though. I would suggest to let the volume of the sounds be dependent on the velocity and rotational velocity of the dices, so the harder they impact, the louder the noise is. In my experience this alone increases the realism of the sound a lot.
I can smell one as well but for that to happen I would need a new mac first (still running on PPC here). But yeah, we build this application with “iphone/ipod” in mind so it’s very likely to happen sometime.
As for the sound. You got a point there. I will have to ask Ric about that and see what he can do.
I would love to see a full game master system for ipod touch/iphone. The ability to roll the dice all at once, drag and throw the dice, and perhaps shake it to roll. The ability to store things like character sheets would be great as well. Looking good so far tho. I do agree that the dice sounds are a bit off.
