RollingSmiley or SmileyWars or.. Something :)

Hey all,
so, I have three days left with my Unity3D Trial, time to present the community what I’ve done with it :slight_smile:

The Game is, or will be, a simple “Marble” and “Jump’n’Run” Game. I made three different characters.
The " :smile: " can perform a double jump, just press space in the air.
The " >:[ " can explode. Press and hold shift or “E”.
And the last one, “O_o”, can float. Shift or “E” to become some kind of baloon.

There are three test-level, one tutorial (text is in german, sorry) and the first level.

Some Screens:

And the very first screenshot:

In the finished game, you can login with your account on my website to save your progress. as for now, you can only collect an item once, but it won’t be saved if you restart the game.

Well, hope you like it :slight_smile:
Will buy Unity3D soon, after I modelled the second level.[/img]

Haha really funny to see those smileys :lol:

How do you have done the green sky with stars on your second screen ?

Cool game! You can say i’m addicted to ball games of any kind, so it was kinda easy for me to love this.

Keep it up, looks great so far… :wink:

Very entertaining - must have been fun to make a tech demo like that (I’m assuming so, given the funky composition of various effects) :smile:

Pretty entertaining to play!

Nice Game! the “cannon” in the actually level launches me WAY too far…"

also, I couldn’t resist… someone posted this, i didn’t catch the name sorry im too lazy…

Real nice… I’m real immature I know…

thanks all!

@dexter
it’s a normal skybox. well, a “demo skycube”, cause it’s impossible to get a good and free “space”-skybox.
there is even a watermark on it :slight_smile: will repelace the skybox later on.

@soad
yes, marble-like games are cool, but I try to go in a little different way, more plattforming etc. :slight_smile:

@angryant
yes, it was the first time, that I really enjoyed making a game :slight_smile:
everything was just so easy, I wanted to do something and it worked a few minutes after. Think I will stay for a while with unity!
Oh, and I forgot to say: the music is from space station silicon valley. it’s a total unique game AND soundtrack. if anyone can get his hands on that n64 game: play it! one of the best and interesting game ever :slight_smile:

@discord
that was my goal :smile:

@boomaster
so, you flew over the island? I always thought, that a lower framerate or something can differ the launch-power of the canon, but couldn’t test it.
have to look into this, thanks!

Indeed! I had forgotten about this game thanks for reminding me. Great game (although I think the controls were super bad :P)

Good start BTW.
I like the visuals.

Hey all!
I added a new level and some more things.
Have fun :slight_smile:

Quite entertaining! The two “real” levels are very enjoyable. :slight_smile:

Rune

Nice! I love the crazy faces :smile:

I just noticed that the face on the ball dynamically changes. How did you achieve that effect?

@runevision and @psychicparrot
glad you like it :slight_smile:

@discord
those are just some cycling textures on the ball. nothing fancy or special. just some changing textures :slight_smile:

Hi Samb88!

I like this game. Make fun for sure :slight_smile:

Wow. must be a decent amount of textures to achieve the smoothness.

@train
Thanks :slight_smile:

@discord
Not really, but clever loops :wink:

As you can see, I use up to 6 texturs per animation. Every texture is 256x256 big. So it’s “ok”, I think :slight_smile:

Amazing! Loved the second level too…
Keep up the great work. :wink:
