Root Transform not visible

Im posting the Animation Rig hierarchy of maya that shows a Root Node called “jumper_root_transform_GRP”.
The root animation is applied to this node (nurbs control in maya) but only its children are the visible options inside unity Rig Import Settings. How do I bring the root motion from the topmost node in maya. Dose it necessarily have to be a bone only?

The root node is parented to a nurbs curve in maya?
Unity does not recognize software specific stuff - so the motion of the root controlled by a curve needs to be converted to keys on the root node.
