Hello everyone,
I’m having an issue with rotation of Image object in Canvas. What i do to reproduce:

  • Create an object with Canvas
    component named CanvasGO, set Render
    mode to Screen Space - Overlay
  • Create a child object with Animator
    component (AnimatorGO)
  • Create a child object of AnimatorGO,
    add Image component and name ImageGO
  • Add animator controller to AnimatorGO
  • Create state in Animator controller and add new Animation

Here is how it looks:

Now when I try to animate an object rotation within z axis, values gets reset in keyframes. Curves graph shows proper values but rotation in frames is not set and object does not animate rotation at all:

Some additional information:

  • Translation animation does work
    properly, same scaling
  • Rotation works on 3d objects
  • Issue showed up in the newest version
    of Unity (5.3.0f4)
  • Animations created in previous
    versions of Unity do work in current
  • I did try animating parent object
    (AnimatorGO) - same problem

Did anyone faced this issue? Can you share some tips how to make it work?

RightClick here, on property name (ImageGO:Rotation) and choose options (quaternion,euler…)
