Royal Fine Arts Museum in UNITY3D on iPhone

Just entered first place in “free educational” apps of local appstore!

YUY!!!

The Rubens room is the showpiece of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA). It is filled with enormous paintings by Peter Paul Rubens, like the magnificent Adoration of the Magi and the gigantic Baptism of Christ (measuring 6.75 by 4.11 metres!). For the re-design of its website the museum has joined forces with the multimedia company GriN to make this treasury accessible to anyone at any time.

Download the ‘Rubens 3D’-application for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and visit the room whenever you feel like it. You can take your time to stroll around and have a look at the paintings, read the explanatory texts and zoom in on the masterworks. Discover Rubens’ virtuosity even in the smallest details of his works.

great stuff, downloading it now. It would be cool if you posted a few screenshot in here

Awesome! Are there some browser based version of this museum?

Oooh this is nice, thanks for the link.
I also saw the web version of it (well I gues it’s the same one).
Did someone notice that moving light-area in front of the camera, is that an actual moving light?
Might be wrong on this side, but I think it takes away from the experience.

All the best, Robert

Oh thank you for the hint.
I think I’ve found ths webplayer version (I hope, its the same).

And it looks fantastic!
I wish every museum would have such great preview. Because it doesn’t substitute the real visit to museum, but rather helps for visit preparations.
