I had to cease the 3ds max tutorials for a little while until I can buy a copy of Camtasia. I will however be adding 4 texture packs a week over the next several months. All textures are 2048x2048 resolution and contain diffuse color, displacement, normals, occlusion and specular color maps.
zip file also includes the original reference photo I took myself. All ref photos are taken from the same distance (about 5-6 ft away, just in case you’re wondering about scale.)
The ref image was shrunk to 1600 pixel width, then tiled to 2048x2048, affecting the scale. Please take this into account when considering your pixel density and scale.
Just go to my website, click on free stuff/textures
For those interested in automatically generating 3d geometry from photos. Check out my new project venture at http://www.3dreferencegeometry.com
Enjoy!
NOTE: I was told I was being deceptive and I’m tricking people to go to my site… OK to clear things up. The 3d models in my site are free for non-commerical use, the texture packs are ROYALTY FREE, just do not redistribute.
Meh. These are for non-commercial use, so they are essentially useless for professional developers. Please could you state so in your original posts? I’ve visited your site twice now with the promise of free assets and as they are non-commercial license I’m annoyed I wasted my time. You are building resentment despite your intent, because you are wasting peoples (professional game developers) time by offering “free” assets, and not stating the terms until people get to the “free” assets page on your site.
I actually have to dig through your site to find that out, by the looks, and after finding out that your “free” assets are actually for non-commercial purposes (Why not say so in your original post??), I’d rather not spend any time on your site because you tricked me into going there to begin with. I had a glance and to find the prices I will have to search. Meh-Wow.
Just state your “free” assets are non-commercial use only and you’ll save developers time. If you want to sell something advertise it as for sale. Just be straight up.
I’m just saying, when you say “Hey come get free assets”
and people visit your site and they are not free and are non-commercial-it makes me not like you on principal. Consider it a “free” tip.
If you’d said free for non-commercial use, the learners could visit and be pleased. Woohoo!
Equally if you advertised at a price for commercial developers, thats fair and apparent also. Make some cash!
I’m just letting you know its a piss off for (some) visitors. I’m telling you how it is, and asking you to tell it how it is, when posting, rather than only supplying the attractive parts of the deal.
The dirt texture looks lovely, if it’s tile-able I could use it in a game I’m working on. I don’t see it in TurboSquid and this will be a game I’m selling. So how much for the texture?
