Hey!, iv started to work on a game, its going to be a RPG, i started playing my PS2 again and fell in love with Dark Cloud 2, so i decided to make a game based around it, so far i’m working on one of the many levels. Feed back or tips would help me a lot.
Story
Weapons
Each time a monster is killed the weapon which gives the killing blow receives exp points. These points can be used to upgrade that weapons Attack, such as damge towards fire or ice or beast ect, what one is leveled up is depended on items wish are broken down into their basic forms. For example red mushrooms could be broken down into red dust that can be added to a weapon which it increases attacks towards enemy’s which are linked to fire. After the weapon has received a certain amount of points into it, it can be forged into a new weapon, unlocking new attacks and special abilitys, each weapon will be unique.
first attempt at Character creation
prototype
Demo link to download a small prototype level, feed back on this would help. Note that Graphics will improve once i start working on polishing the level (donations to buy models would help or donate some time and come help me! )
Dark Cloud 2 was amazing, I wish Level 5 would make a 3rd! Anyways, game needs some work, the default textures suck. Maybe buy or make some hand painted textures!
You should take those trees out and replace them with more detailed ones. There are a bunch of tree packages in the Asset Store you can use. Just try not to use the same tree over and over again. Try putting different types of trees.
They go by pretty swiftly if you allot enough time to them Make sure that you are reading into the concepts, and not just blindly typing the code in as he does. If you master the concepts (or attain an adequate amount of knowledge) during the course of those tutorials, then you will be in great shape. For example, if your game goes viral, and you have thousands of subscribers/players, and a game breaking bug or exploit is uncovered, then you will know precisely how to locate it in your code and fix it.
