Hello everyone, first I just want to say thank you to everyone who asks questions and of course to those who answer them on these boards…it’s been extremely helpful so far.
I’ve run into a bit of a problem I’m not sure how to solve however…I apologize if it’s been answered before…perhaps I used poor search terms but I could not find an answer.
I have an RTS camera setup where you can zoom in/out and pan the screen up/left/right/down. This works great.
I have simple terrain setup…so I could test everything and it worked great again. What I did next… was add trees to the level. Now when I look at my scene…only a small circle of the trees (below my camera object) are actually drawn without just displaying a shadow of the model. When I move the camera, the drawn trees shift…
I am just curious what methods I should be employing to get an evenly drawn map? Should I be using something else to put down vegetation and level details as opposed to the basic terrain engine? I found some settings to increase the amount of trees drawing at once…but as predicted my framerate took a huge dive.
Just curious if anyone has any advice how I can create smooth environments without taking a huge performance hit. Are there tricks of the trade?
Thanks in advance.
