Run Oculus Quest when hitting Play WITHOUT .apk with Remote Rendering

Hi. At the Oculus Connect Conference they mentioned Remote Rendering and only having to hit the Play button in Unity instead of building the .apk to run the scene? Anyone know how to enable that?

Here is where they talked about it:

Thanks.

UPDATE - From Oculus
“Thank you for reaching out. This will be possible once the Oculus Link software + cable is available. Essentially, you will be able to use the Oculus Quest as a PCVR headset, which would allow you to iterate faster within the headset by allowing you to preview directly to headset. Keep in mind, however, you will still have to build your APK to the Quest once you are done with your iterations.”

Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

This would be awesome, but it seems it’s PC only ?

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

What is there to say? Wait for november update. Search the web for Oculus Link to see how it all plays out.

I know, that’s why I posted the update from Oculus in case others had the same question.

OK but please don’t bump it unless you have a specific question. If it’s general chit chat about VR and Link then I can move the topic to general if you prefer.

It seems that it is finally coming with Oculus update v13.

Anyone know if Oculus Link works on the Mac or is it PC only?

PC only as it requires Oculus Home to be installed

Does anyone have any insight as to how the “Remote rendering” from the v13 update should work/be enabled? Thanks!

If you mean hands rendering then just use the latest integration package and v13 on both Quest and PC

How to use it? I’ve upgraded to v13 on both Quest and PC, in Unity editor mode it doesn’t work.

Install both Oculus packages, Android and Desktop
