Saving and retrieving data online? What hosting etc do you need?

Hey Everyone,

I would like to start developing an app that allows you to write a note and then the ‘friends/accounts’ you are linked with can also see that note.

I am unsure on what type of networking or hosting is needed for what is essentially a way to retrieve posted strings to the linked accounts.

First ever post on the forum so please let me know if you need anything else.

For a small app a small Managed Webserver would do fine.
Those can be fairly cheep.
If you are planning with 100 -1000 Users per minute you might have to look at something stronger but for the start keep it small.
