saving for packaging 3d characters and objects i've created for the asset store

hello, i’m new to unity but not new to 3d graphics and animation. been creating for a few years, but am a little lost on how to save to package for sale here in the unity asset store. i’ve found some information but a good, clear thorough description of steps and formats it needs to be saved in for uploading would be really awesome, for both characters and objects. i’m starting my first game, a learning one player interactive for young children age 6 to 11-12 who are learning english as a second language (pretty much my students over here in japan who find classroom stuff boring and need a fun support at home to use), beginner level basics and haven’t found the right characters or props i have in my head for it so i’m creating my own to upload, also doing soundcloud clips for it. I would reeeeeeeeally appreciate all the help i can get getting started. i’ve watched the tutorials, i think i can work my way through it but programming isn’t my strong point, years ago when we programmed in dos… yes. now… not so much. help? please? thank you…

This page should guide you through the process.

Incidentally, I’m going to be in Tokyo for all of June and the first week or so of July. If you’re anywhere near there, let’s get together — I can help you through the process if you need it. I also have an interest in language learning software, so I’d love to see what you’re doing and hear about the challenges your students are facing.

hi, i am not close to tokyo, but since you are here for a while, if you want to check out the southern end of japan, it’s very beautiful down here, you should see some of japan while here, if you have time. if you do, and can spare a few days over a weekend please feel free to stop on by! i have it all in my head right now, doing basic large draft drawings, and will be writing the script for recording the sound bites for the different characters and interactions hopefully this week for sound cloud. also will go to the page you suggested, and look at that to see how i can convert some of my current 3d characters (my avatar here is one of my characters) i’ve created into the unity format for uploading. i appreciate all the help i can get  so if you have the time, i’d love the help. this one is my first, and the first in a multi level series. this one is beginner, with 5 increasing levels. the next beginner-intermediate, then intermediate, intermediate-advanced then to advanced. i’m not sure if i want to continue to expert as at that point they should have no issues and can read anything. here in japan, they really aren’t great or advanced with english, a lot i think is how its taught in schools. they start about 3rd grade, but the teachers are japanese, many with little english ability themselves, and foreigners from all over so the kids get blasted with so many dialects and ways of speaking english that its confusing. they really also don’t focus on speaking, just memorizing and writing and listening. i want to change that at an early stage.
