Hello all,
I have a 3D scene, and in 3D Studio Max 2009 it shows as around 5.5K polys, and slightly more Verts.
However, when i pull it into Unity (as an FBX) the polys look correct, but the Verts are now reporting as almost 30K!
I have attached the scene (FBX without the textures),
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi. There are a ton of threads dealing with this topic in here, so I suggest you do a search in the forum. Most likely, you are probably having problems with one of the following:
-Too many UV separations
-Too many vertex normal separations (hard edges/smoothing groups)
-A pixel light in your scene
also for each material on an object, the vert count is added once again currently.
Generally the stats in the window should at least in the current version only be taken as a guideline.
The only real of interest statistics are the data you get from the profiler which will tell you where the bottleneck is and where not
