Scene view Flythrough mode disengages immediately

Frustrating experience with the scene view flythrough mode I’ve been having since getting a new laptop. Weird thing is this started happening in unity AND godot.

Basically I can hold right click to enter flythrough mode, but when I press a button to actually move the camera, it moves for exactly one frame, and then toggles back into translate mode or rotate mode or whatever I was using before. Can’t find any other people talking about this, ideas?

It sounds like some laptop setting that releases the mouse button when you type, perhaps to avoid typos with your finger brushing the mousepad.

To isolate, attach an external mouse and see if the right click is affected similarly by touching a WASD key.
