in every single project, if i go full screen in the game view to play my game, when i come back, the scene view has switched itself to “top” view instead of “free” and reset to the default angle. this is driving me batty! anyone know what’s going on? thanks!
I find this pretty annoying too, is this a bug or a feature?
See this thread on scene views.
That thread is a little different. I just want the scene view to remember what angle I last had it at. I don’t mind if it loses it when I quit, just having it reset when I come back from the game view to tweak something is hella obnoxious to the max tubular lol roflmao annoying.
Well, while on the subject, it is annoying when the scene view stays in the same z,y,z position even when you load a new scene or even a new project. It would be nice if each scene file saved the viewport position as well.

I also find this anoying :?
It’s pretty easy to ignore though.

I find it really hard to ignore when I’m tweaking some small area in a large scene. Then you run the game to see how it looks, and when you exit back to the scene view you’re “miles away” from where you want to be to do further tweaking on this small area.
Yeah actually thats true… I havent had any really small tweaking going on… F key has really become my best friend. I am sure it can be a hassle.
Bill
Yep, that’s what I always resort to, the F key… and that’s not too bad really (man I love that unity uses the same hotkeys as Maya). But you still have to find the object in the hierarchy which takes time if the object wasn’t the last thing you had selected.
It’s a bug, I am on it’s tail.
A bug? From my post linked above, “For example, I take time to position the viewport to get a certain perspective, but then after I run the game the scene view seems to reset to some random position.” grumble grumble
