Scene window is empty - dead in the water!

I have run into a really weird problem. I was experimenting with layers, cameras etc., and for reasons that I do not understand, my scene window does not show any of the objects in the Hierarchy. I believe last thing I did was switch to a 2x3 layout so I could see both the game and scene windows at the same time (I usually use a Tall layout) and noticed that objects in the scene window were only drawn when they were within the main camera in the game view. I thought that was a nifty feature to show frustum culling, but now, even when the game is not running, the scene view is empty.

So the situation now is that if I go to the game window, I can see the terrain and rest of the objects (but of course cannot rotate the view, select objects etc.), while the scene view is just empty. I created a new project and same thing is happening there. I have tried all the draw modes, ‘Textured’, ‘Wireframe’ etc., lighting on/off, different color modes, but at the end, nothing shows.

Any idea what would be causing this behavior? This is really concerning because my installation as of now is unusable, so any help would be appreciated.

So, I kept trying to figure out what was wrong, and at some point I realized that when trying to invoke the Layers drop down menu, there was an error 'Cannot open window" or something like that. I ended up rebooting (it had been a few weeks since the last reboot) and when everything came up, all is good and working.

I suspect the layers were set to ignore the default but selecting it back did not work for whatever reason, hence the confusion.

I guess more frequent reboots may be necessary.

In my very simmilar situation ( no objects on Scene view, but all in Game view), I just drop down Layers selector and select Default option, this work just fine, all objects was returns to Scene view. First time when this happens I just not got myocardial mikarda :slight_smile: Sudenly, all my objects was gone AAAAAAA!
