Sci-fi horror fps!

Howdy y’all! Over the past year or so, I’ve been working on an awesome sci-fi horror fps

So the story is: you’re a scientist dude in an underground super government facility and stuff, studying aliens and whatnot, and the aliens get loose and kill everybody, so you gotta go all Rambo on 'em… cool huh?

I’ve definitely focused more on gameplay than story.
You get a bunch of weapons(no more than necessary, well maybe a little), and I’ve tried to put as much interactivity as possible in the game, as well as as awesome enemies!

So what do y’all think?

Any constructive criticism/destructive cynicism is absolutely welcome.
However keep in mind. it aint finished yet.

My first thought is that its that the alien looks really pleased to see me, and doesn’t look very scary. In fact it looks edible.

That storyline is really deep.

Ok, for some more constructive criticism. The ideas you are currently using used quite a lot - they’re very cliche. Aliens? Overused. Secret underground governmental facility? Overused. So far this game would be very hard to make unique to all the other alien shoot-em-ups. So instead of being someone in the military going rambo on the aliens, how about when they found the aliens, they were not very smart. Quite stupid, in fact, until you made a breakthrough in studying the aliens. They were in fact very intelligent… yadda yadda yadda. Make a storyline! And make those aliens look scary!

Literally.

The picture’s demonstrate a certain degree of dedication.

I agree with the above two posters

Things i like in game’s

  • exploration

  • interactive things like taking over automated turrets

One of my favorite’s games was System Shock 2 not only for the excellent story telling but of the enemy called the Many that moved around the ship unpredictably, Where and when you might encounter them is anybody’s guess, They often would cry out “we hear you”, and the player would then hear the opening and closing of doors which did wonders at raising the players stress levels.

It would be advantageous of you to check the game out on YouTube.

Scientist going rambo ??!! Now thats interesting :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank y’all fer feedback!

@hippocoder I completely agree, I’ll get right on making it less happy.
@suctioncup As i stated before I’ve focused primarily on gameplay, however i suppose i could put more effort into story
@runner I definitely plan on putting much exploration and interactivity, and yes, system shock was an excellent game!

One thing i forgot to mention is this is my first game, so forgive my noobishness

Alright so I’ve just included a new alien in my original post, it looks less like a happy marshmallow, and more like a sad lasagna :stuck_out_tongue:
