SCP Mini Game : Six-Eight-Two

The General Idea

SCP 682 has escaped captivity and is running rampant through the building. It is your job to devise a plan to lure him back into his containment cell. Can you defeat the hard to destroy lizard? Six-Eight-Two will be a game with a mixture of both fast paced and slow paced moments, you could be walking through the randomly generated corridors for a while, or you could see 682 and spend a while trying to get away from him. You are to devise a plan to trap 682 into his containment cell by getting him to chase you. He is faster than you, so you need to use shutter doors, explosives and your assault rifle to damage his limbs to slow him down, as he has to regenerate to compensate for the damage done to him.

Progress

A small pre alpha video, this video is old, we have made progress since this, but have no videos online showing it.

A small video showing off some SCP_682 renders and WIP sounds.

We hope you like the progress you are seeing, we will be updating the post regularly and would love any feedback you may have, but please, keep it constructive, and bare in mind that this is pre alpha, and a lot of things need to be finished and are subject to change. Thank you.

Hey, this looks pretty cool  Some nice gameplay you have going in that video!
I like the concept of the 682, but I think the model needs a bit of work, or at least its textures. It looks kinda plasticky to me… Is it meant to look wet?

Thank you for the feedback!

The specs are too high in the render, he wont look as slimy, but I am thinking on trying to make that snout a tad shorter.

Yeah adjusting the specularity is a minor fix and can totally be tweaked. I think the texture looks outstanding!

Looks really interesting, can’t wait to try it out.

Thanks guys! We should have an open alpha really soon, given that we can get a bunch of things tweaked and fixed!

just uploaded a new video! Feedback would be appreciated, but keep in mind the sounds are still WIP!

Apologies for the double post.

I like the roars, has a sort of displaced inter-dimensional feel to it if that make sense. Feels pretty alien.

Thank you, that’s what we are aiming for, right now we need to make dialogue for him, as he can also speak (y)

Just thought I would share a small WIP that I am currently illustrating, it’s an Art Nouveau style poster of Six Eight Two. Any feedback is appreciated, but remember thats a WIP

On my screen, that background is navy blue, it’s actually grey… Not sure why its being like that :S

Just thought I would ask a quick question too, what kind of things should SCP_682 say in game? Things like ‘Im coming for you’ or ‘I see you’, just been trying to think of a few things and thought someone out there might have some scary ideas

I don’t know of anything he should say, but I totally think he should laugh at least a few times. That would sound very cool/scary/evil.

682 is highly intelligent, his comments should be profound. Maybe mocking our high culture/literature, humans really are a lower form of life compared to his species. I would expect 682 to mostly disregard the presence of humans and it would be more of a monologue than a dialogue.

Or what about a dialogue that takes place between 682 and the player character over the course of the game. The players actions could change the outcome of the conversation. Actually don’t do that because I want to use that idea now.

So happy to see progress on this! I definitely agree on SCP 682 making cruel, snide, or disturbing comments, but for the model you’re missing one thing… hair.
There is only one photo of SCP 682 on the wiki, but in total there exists about 6 photos taken by the Russian soldiers who found the creature. Those who witnessed it descibed it as having hair, and in the pictures you can clearly see its clumped up hair spanning from the top of its head to at least the tailbone (possibly further). It’s an integral part of how most people imagine the “un-dissolved” SCP 682 to look, (just look up some fan art), so I think it is definitly worth adding to your model.
All the photos of SCP 682 can be seen on the right-hand side of this short article: UnderwaterTimes | Strange Creature Found On Russian Coastline Baffles Locals

Good luck on your ventures, sir! I cannot wait to see the results!

Thank you for the heads up, we’ll see what we can do about that hair

Seems as I am posting, I may aswel post the finished version of my poster for Six-Eight-Two, please ignore the release date, it isn’t accurate

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

PS, the background is supposed to be grey, I need to fix that, should be fairly simple though

They already have a alpha out for download. Plus theres no SCP-682 in the actual alpha Version that i downloaded. Cant wait to see the final results! Good luck!
