Sculptris for Character Creation

I’ve Googled this and looked in the forums and answers sections, but I can’t seem to find the answer I’m looking for.

I’m trying to see if Sculptris is a good option for character creation to port over into Unity. I was going to use Blender but I feel the learning curve for Sculptris is significantly lower.

I know I will eventually have to port the model over to a 3D program to wire it for animation, but I’m really just looking for something that can create characters really fast.

I’ve also heard of Mixamo from a YouTube video as an option to rig a character model. Would this be a good option to use on a Sculptris model?

Sculptris is used for sculpting. A sculpted model usually have high poly count and high poly count doesn’t go well with game-making.

The fastest possible way to create character is to modify it from existing ones and use some automated/semi-automated rigging tool. Another option is to use game-ready character (these usually come with a price-tag).

You can use Sculptris to create your character, but you need to import the sculpture into a 3D modelling software, for example Blender, to retopo the sculpture into a low-poly model. You can then use the low-poly model for animation, texturing and game-making.

I see no reason why it would not work on sculptris model, but you are doing this for a game, not an animation. So it is not a viable option for you.

Whats the point in sculptris is you cant use it to create characters for a game, sounds stupid to me.
