Search does not find conversations with the exact title

I tried searching for topics that exist but the search function does not list them at all in the result. I would expect that a 1:1 match should show up in the results.

(For reference this is the topic that should have been the first hit of that search: Keywords & Branching)

i tried searching for a thread that existed before, and didnt find it either, so im wondering if the indexing is still in progress

Yes, this happens to me too. What a mess with this move!!!

Search does not work well at all. I’m perplexed as I’d have assumed taking something like Discourse would have a battle tested and working search engine.

But I can’t find my WIP asset, called NZSpellCasting. This is literally the easiest search as the keyword is in the title and posts. ([WIP] - NZSpellCasting for DOTS - Build AAA RPG spells the data oriented way)

So yeah, hope this gets fixed.

edit: So right after posting this post I search again and this post showed up instantly. So I’m 99% sure it’s an indexing problem.
edit2: Yep, I just bumped the thread with a post and now it shows up in the search. Old posts are not indexed it seems.

The search index is being/has been rebuilt. You can also surround queries with double-quotes which requires exact matches and may improve results for you

We found a potential issue in the search setting we will be rolling out the fix Monday when we have more bodies in case of issues.

you should find it works now

Still seems broken on my end.

Take this topic for example: Unity Future .NET Development Status

I’m writing it in verbatim and the topic is nowhere is sight:

If I add quotes it’s the 5th result:

It’s fully in bold for two top and for all the bottom ones.

You can select in the advanced to search only in a title.

You can search this:
Unity Future .NET Development Status in:title
