I can see that you got a reply from the QA team about this bug. For the sakes of transparency in case other users see this, I will post the response here :slight_smile:

There seems to be a number of issues with the search bar.

  1. “Packages search results are not updated when changing search box value during the packages refresh”. We know about this issue and are tracking progress here: Unity Issue Tracker - Packages search results are not updated when changing search box value during the packages refresh

  2. “Package Manager does not match all string patterns when searching in “My Assets””. We also know about this issue and are tracking progress here: Unity Issue Tracker - Package Manager does not match all string patterns when searching in "My Assets"

  3. And for the issue where refreshing “My Assets” displays all assets and ignores what is in the search bar, this is fixed from Unity 2020.2 and up. I won’t be opening a backport to 2020.1, because it will no longer be updated.
