Seat License - Install to External Hard Drive?

I just wanted to know if when I purchase an Indie license if I could install to external hard drive for use with my 24" imac when at home and macbook pro when traveling.

This is my first post and I did a search with no luck before asking, so, I apologize if this is posted elsewhere or if I am in the wrong place.

Your entitled to 2 installs that I know of.
Just install it on your home machine then install it on your macbook.

You should be able to do that but it will count as your two installs as each machine requires separate activation.
