I want to add a second chance option into my game for the player to continue the game from where he loose but I don’t know how to make it work. If anyone can suggest me something or show me a video about it, it would be awesome!
Depends heavily on the type of game you are creating, as well as the way you implemented it so far. For some games, you could simply have a counter for lifes, play a death animation when the character dies, then some sort of resurrect animation, decrease the counter, and let the player play until he reached 0 lifes. In other games you may want other mechanics, maybe pause the game inbetween deaths, play around with some numbers (like score) or do whatever else. It really depends on what exactly you need… and how to implement it obviously depends on how you implemented everything else in your game so far.
Just like health, lifes are just numbers in games. So effectively, if you want your player to have a second life, give him one and introduce a mechanic that decreases lifes and increases health on death. Everything else is just visuals, delays, gameplay mechanics, and design decisions to be made.
Hope this was of any help.
This was a very broad question, so if there is anything specific you feel unsure about then feel free to ask.
