Seeking help: Tree creator - Poor join at root of branches

Hi guys, I’m looking for some advice please:

I’ve hit a bit of a wall with the tree creator and getting branches to join properly at their base.

I’m creating some gnarled old apple trees so the crinkliness is turned up with whorled placement. However, not all, but a lot of the branches have a relatively large gap at the join with the parent branch. Google hunts have been fruitless so far.

This is happening with procedural and custom placement. Weld and spread are having no effect either.

I thought it might be just one side and occluding the back face on the other side but this is both sides of the branch.

I’d rather stick with the prefabs I have rather than modelling in a separate app. If anyone has any advice I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks

I don’t have a lot of tree creator experience, but you could look at this post:
http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/145172-WIP-Small-Works-Art-Thread/page109?p=1291126&viewfull=1#post1291126

Which shows a tree made in tree creator, and there is some discussion both before and after this.

Also there is a link to a tree creator tutorial:

Cheers - I’ll check them out
