Our project currently involves only myself (designer and pixel artist/also an award-winning author if that counts for anything), and one other (a programmer). As the programmer’s time is split between this and his own game (he is near release/crunch time), I’m looking for one more programmer to keep things moving along.
This is an unpaid, remote position, using Discord and GitHub to collaborate. I’d like to find someone with Unity/C# experience and, if possible, an understanding of client-hosted multiplayer development (though that’s not an immediate requirement).
Money is rather a moot point to discuss, but I’d be happy to do rev share on this title, or even continue working together on future projects as a studio if things go well.
I have no specific requirements, but please have links or videos of your previous work. It doesn’t have to be fancy or even a completed project. I’m capable of picking up on all the little nuances that go into a game that are often overlooked, but I would like someone who is detail-focused, and appreciates polish.
This game is similar to Stardew Valley, with its farming sim and social elements, as well as its top-down, pixel aesthetics. We already have a lot of the core aspects developed, including inventory, farming (tilling, planting, watering, etc.), harvesting resources (chopping down trees), basic interactions (dialogue, reading signs, etc.), combat (guns and swords), time and weather changes, base-building, etc.
I also have an artist working on some opening “cinematic” images for the titular character.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, please reach out to me. You can message me here (though I don’t check messages here too often). Or reach out to me in other ways:
