Known issue, apparently fixed in 2022.3.8: Unity Issue Tracker - Sprite previews are missing in the Editor when URP is installed
I see this issue on all 2022 versions. When I was using the late 2021 versions it was working.
This really messes it up!
Using Unity 2022.3.53f. Got issue with missing sprites after updating from Unity 2021. Got nothing to do with URP too - removing URP packages does not fix the issue.
Selecting a sprite and pressing Reset in the inspector fixes preview, but it will break again on restart/reimport.
