Self illuminating cutout texture?

is it possible to have a self illuminating material that uses a PNG with transparency?

also do lights effect self illuminating shaders?

thanks

sencond that

I would checkout the transparent/vertexlit shader. There may even be a transparent/cutout/vertexlit as well.

Here you go.

I merged the cut out diffuse with the self illumin

In your project winder click create, then select shader.

A new shader will appear. Name it.

Select it. in the inspector window, click Open.
If asked for an application to open with select a text editor ( i used Unitron)

Copy and paste the code below into it and Save.

You should now see it in your list of shaders under Self-Illumin → Transparent → Cutout → Diffuse

Shader "Self-Illumin/Transparent/Cutout/Diffuse" {
Properties {
	_Color ("Main Color", Color) = (1,1,1,1)
	_MainTex ("Base (RGB) Trans (A)", 2D) = "white" {}
	_Cutoff ("Alpha cutoff", Range(0,1)) = 0.5
	_Illum ("Illumin (A)", 2D) = "white" {}
	_EmissionLM ("Emission (Lightmapper)", Float) = 0
}

SubShader {
	Tags {"Queue"="AlphaTest" "IgnoreProjector"="True" "RenderType"="TransparentCutout"}
	LOD 200

CGPROGRAM
#pragma surface surf Lambert alphatest:_Cutoff

sampler2D _MainTex;
sampler2D _Illum;
fixed4 _Color;

struct Input {
	float2 uv_MainTex;
	float2 uv_Illum;
};

void surf (Input IN, inout SurfaceOutput o) {
	fixed4 c = tex2D(_MainTex, IN.uv_MainTex) * _Color;
	o.Albedo = c.rgb;
	o.Emission = c.rgb * tex2D(_Illum, IN.uv_Illum).a;
	o.Alpha = c.a;
}
ENDCG
}

Fallback "Transparent/Cutout/VertexLit"
}

Isnt it more expensive than Unlit/TransparentCutout.shader ?
i am looking for the lightest shader too

thx

unlit is different than self illumin

unlit - the whole image has no shadowing on it

self illumin - second image is used to simulate a light and shadowing

The custom shader shouldn’t be too expensive as it is only a slight modification of cut out diffuse

Thanks much for your shader! I was looking for exactly this!

also just what i wanted. thanks
