Serdika MMO - My Solo Project using Unity

I created this game client in Unity that connects to an EQ Emulator server. I have the beginnings of two zones, about 15 different NPC types, day and night cycles, weather cycles, banking, merchants, quests, trading, grouping, fighting, abilities and spell casting. The next feature I’m about to add is crafting. 4 years of work so far, lots of learning, and lots of fun.

Awesome! I love the old style MMORPG feel. I see several systems already up and functioning. It looks like you are making real progress. I am not familiar with the EQ Emulator server but it’s impressive you are able to integrate with it for a Unity project.

Are there any extra challenges with using the EQ Emulator server? Is that something that will limit options for the game or is it featured enough or open enough to allow for precise control over the server side of things?

Would you like a writer for lore, quests, and dialogue? I know a good one. It sounds like the world backstory is still being formulated. Would you like a level designer? I’d love to volunteer/offer up a few prototype zone ideas.

Which pipeline is in use? Are you integrating with any other tools? Are mounts planned? Any details on group content?

I am guessing the teaser bits are just for fun/filler but I would absolutely nix the AI generated content. It just feels so distant from the classic MMORPG vibe. Are you leaning toward a specific look for the game? Emulating any art styles from previous titles?

Solid foundation! Keep it up!

I have changed it up quite a bit since then and 5 other people have volunteered to work with me on the project. We are hoping to let people start playing in July, with only two zones though. Here is a link to the newer version:
