SetFloat on individual particles?

As the tittle suggests, I am looking to see if it is possible with the shuriken system to change values in the shader, individually. In this case I have a cutout shader, where i can change a value to fade the texture out. My wish is to have a smoke trail, where the cutout value get higher as the lifetime of the particle continues. So the first articles have maybe a 0 value and the last a 1 value. Is there any way, or am i stuck making my own hacky particle system?

Not sure what exactly you mean by “changing values individually in the shader”, but the Unity scripting API should have everything you need (theoretically :wink: ):
