Hi,
I am trying to create this character controller on my character through scripting… I noticed that we can set every other property of the CharacterController class through scripting, except for SkinWidth…
Can anyone please tell me why is this so? And is there are workaround for this… Skinwidth seems to be really important for my character, since if I set it to a wrong value, the character tends to jump and jitter around on its own…
Will really appreciate it if someone could please help me out on this!!
Many thanks,
Akshay
Hey, Im looking for this too.
I tought that skinWidth should be an variable of CharacterController, but it isnt…
Anyone knows how to set CharacterController’s skinWidth by script?
thanks in advance.
So, there is no way to do that?

There doesn’t seem to be any way to set the skinWidth value from a script. You could request this feature using the Report Bug application if you would find it useful.
I too would like to see this implemented. I submitted a feature request.
How long will take to UT solve this issue?
UT doesn’t necessarily implement every feature request. This would certainly be a useful feature for the CharacterController, but it isn’t a bug as such.
Sure, its not a bug. But it looks like MS Windows XP Starter Edition.
I cant imagine why we dont have access to that specific variable. There must be some very special reason (or none)…
UT dont need to do nothing. But a very simple way to develop a better product is listening to users(clients).
