So I want a blob shadow on my character. I tryed usingthe prefab one and it worked fine… just one problem. The shadow is cast on all surfaces underneith the charcter. So when the character is standing on a floating platform with the ground underneath it the shadow is cast on the ground undernieth the platform and on the platform surface. So I want to setup my own blob shadow. It will be good experience anyways.
So, my question: How can I get the hit normal of a raycast and the hit location and then set a plane (with th shadow texture) to that loacation and rotation?
Anyone know how to do this?
There is my problem. How do I fix it?

Maybe you can use ‘‘LAYERS’’ on different objects just on top of the inspector And set the ‘‘ignore layers’’ of your projector
Is there a way to get the object a ray pointing down hits and and set that as the only object that gets the shadow projected onto it?
eeeeeeeeeeeeeee Maybe you should use the blob shadow that you can find in the standar assets —> BlobShadow Projector and you’ll get a spot of shadow and set the layer of your character and your object or mesh that you wont have shadow.
You can set the projector to ignore certain layers when projecting the shadow. You can also add a falloff texture to control how far away the shadow will be projected. See the projector manual page for more information.
