Setting Visibility of Group of Models/Game Object

I have a game object (I think) which contains a large number of models to make up the entire object. The actual game object itself does not have a renderer to enable/disable. How would I go about changing the visibility of this object without setting each model’s renderer settings?

If they share a parent/child relationship, you can do something like from the root object:

var renderers = GetComponentsInChildren(Renderer);
for (var rend : Renderer in renderers) {
    rend.enabled = false;
