Shader displayed as white if not included in the first scene

Hi community!
We have an issue and would appreciate any help (or were to start)

  1. We have initial scene were the player starts
  2. The player can then enter another scene were we have a interactable ladder with highlight
  3. Issue is that the ladder material looks like in attached screenshot.
  4. We use the built in highlight shader

The only way we have been able to get around this issue is to have the ladder shader loaded in the 1st scene while building. (Where is should not even be used)

I am sure this is not best pratice, to have all assets for the game loaded in the first scene to get them to work in the rest of the game =)

We must be doing something wrong, help!

You can add shader to be always included @ Project Settings → Graphics.
