Shadow artifacts on boundary of lit and shadowed sprite

Hello! I am getting blending artifacts when using 2D shadows on URP. So far I can get pixel perfect results, but when a shadow butts up to an un-shadowed sprite, it tries to blend it and makes both sprites look worse
I rendered at HD and this is what the artifact is

and when I render it at target resolution, it becomes the much more distracting

any way to turn this off? everything else looks great
