Shadows in terrain with Baked lights

I know this has been asked many times, but I just have to ask

one of the most important features that Unity is lacking of is that when you bake lights, shadows are not being casted on the terrain. It just shows a black shadow and in some cases it doesn’t casts anything. Does anyone has a workaround or someone from the Unity team can confirm when is this going to be available?

yeah lighting is broken in 5.x they’re fixing it in 5.3.
turn on realtime GI and switch your disrectional lights to mixed and you shadows will work
