HUH???
I buy (well, my company buys it for me) Unity Indie for $200, and two weeks later you make if FREE???
Actually, I don’t care b/c I needed it for this job we just did, free or not. What I AM wondering about is shadows in 2.6. Will the lights in 2.6 Indie cast any shadows, or do I still need to shell out $$$ for the upgrade to Indie Pro to get that capability? Texture baking just to get shadows is time-consuming.
Real-time shadows are still a Pro only feature.
Dude, that’s not new. You should have been well aware of it during your technology evaluation. It was well noted in the Unity product documentation and these forums before Unity was selected for your project.
If u bought it 2 weeks ago, your company can get his money back
you should inform yourself more

for your money back…
x) have a nice day
You can do blob shadows though, and I guess with a bit of tweaking you could calculate the position from the main light source to the object, and then adjust the offset of the blob shadow.
What are those shadows…? that circle parented to your player just in the terrain level?, that is still nice, there must be a technique to do it.
Well my friend, is sad that unity indie does not support dyn shadows, but no matter there are others great stuffs right now on the free version, you are destined to use lightmaps for now… we are in the same position.
Don´t worry there are many actual games that uses this technique (lightmaps).
We have Ogre, and others engines that support dynamic shadows but still prefer Unity because because simply is complete yet if shadows are disabled…
