Hello.
I want share some experience with the community, probably this story will help somebody to not get in trouble like I do
or push asset store team to make few small updates.
I have decided change root folder for my package from Assets/Extensions/ to Assets/AssetStore - I thought this name will be more appropriate.
I did this with two packages, one of this packages just got update and another one I put on sale.
BUT! Appears that Assets/AssetStore folder is ignored by my the system, and basically I have two empty packages on Asset Store.
IOS Native - Sale was started with empty package with is complete fail ![]()
Texture Packer Pro - Completely empty package on Asset Store.
Yes, I understand that this is my fault. But I do not understand why such update was excepted in first place?
Besides I do not remember warnings about not to use Assets/AssetStore folder in the documentation. I’m not sure if it mentions somewhere in Asset Store submission doc. But I think it should.
What do I do:
- Package is resubmitted with fixed folder name
- My comments in package forum thread with the problem explanation
- My comments on Asset Store package page with the problem explanation
- Few e-mail to asset store team with the problem description
And there is nothing more I can do. So i just waiting until new version of my plugins will be excepted.
And I keep getting bad review and small sales.
What I wish to have in this situation:
- Small button “Revert to pervious version”
- Will be very useful if update is failed by any reason. - Urgent contact to Asset Store support. I understand that all my letter are waiting in general queen, So I’m not sure what will happened first, I get the answer from support or my package will be updated.
Basically, yes that is my fault. But this is nice to have urgent contact and possibility to revert at leas last submission.
I hope this post will help someone to not get in trouble like I do. And probably Asset Store manager will think about those improvements.
