Hi,
This is a project I recently wrapped for a magazine. I can’t post a demo, so I’ll post a screenshot. The idea is to teach bow hunters how to place a good shot, and by the use of layers of transparency, show why that’s a good shot. It also teaches you how long to wait after different shots before tracking the animal, and what to expect. I’m not a hunter myself, but from talking to the few hunters I know, this looks like it’s going to be pretty popular. Mac, PC, and iPad. Android and iPhone are in the works.
You can pan around, zoom in or out, take a shot, then slide the transparency slider back and forth to look inside the deer, along the path of the arrow you shot. You can change the temperature of the surroundings, whether or not to show the surroundings, and the type of arrowhead. Based on these settings and the placement of your shot, different information will appear in the area at the bottom, explaining the good and bad points about your shot.
Tools used were Conjure, LightWave, 3D Coat, and Unity 2.6.1.
