Should I transcode H.264 MP4 videos when building for pc?

The docs are really vague about this, I’m not sure what transcoding a video in Unity does, but it messes up the colors of the video.

Should I enable it?

And if so, how do I prevent the colors being wrong?
Should I use a different file format than H.264 MP4?
I make the videos myself, so I can easily render it to a different format, I just need to know which one is best suited.

Wait, this isn’t the best place for this question, but I can’t seem to remove it anymore.
I’ve also posted this question here: https://forum.unity.com/threads/should-i-transcode-h-264-mp4-videos-when-building-for-pc.1341857/
which I now think is the better place for it, right?

this thread can be closed/removed.

Actually, the best place to ask about Audio/Video is the dedicated forum here: Unity Engine - Unity Discussions

Do you want me to delete your two threads so you can ask on that forum?

Right, yeah, I posted there initially with a bunch of questions in one post, but it seemed like I won’t get a reply there so I thought I’d post in a more general forum.

I don’t really “want” them to be deleted, I just want help.
But if you feel like they should be removed then go ahead.

This one?
You only posted it 4 hours ago. You cannot expect an instant answer.

I’ll leave you to it but just know that cross-posting is something we like to avoid.

Hope you get an answer though.

I guess so, haha
thanks
