I’ve read a lot in the past about graphical artifacts causing problems when a mesh has two vertices/edges in the same place, usually on a vertex-coloured shape where the shape is split into individual quads (for a cube as example, 6 faces of different colours). Often people mention “seams” where two edges occupy the same space the background behind the shape shows through a 1 pixel gap where they meet.
My issue isn’t really a problem/bug, it’s more that no matter what I do I can’t cause these artifacts to appear. Which is good, but it confuses me that so many people do have this issue I was expecting to see it instantly. Moving the shape, rotating, zooming the camera, adjusting quality settings etc, everything looks perfect and I see no seams.
So really my question is… Should I be worried about artifact seams? Issues that everyone else seems to have, but I don’t have? Could it just be these kinds of issues only show themselves when a scene is full of content, rather than just a couple of cubes in it?
Thanks!
