Hey all, just thought I’d share on a side project while I take a small break from my terrain generator.
As some of you may know, Minecraft’s multiplayer is pretty neat, but without any limits to the servers end up looking trashy. This is why a lot of servers set restrictions. A lot tend to restrict the building of towns through applications. That’s what this little tool is for. it’s still a WIP, but the basics are almost done. Here’s a screenshot and webplayer:
UPDATE: I’ve just completed version 1.0 of the town planner. Please have a look!
WEBPLAYER Link
(For some fun hold down the F6 button and see how much your computer’s browser can handle)
Instructions:
Blocks must be built on a path using the Path Mode (top button on the left). Once you established a foundation you can build blocks (Build Mode, middle button on the left) on top of it. Right click to erase blocks or paths (depending on the mode you set).
Arrow Keys - Pan camera
Scroll Wheel - Zoom
Middle Mouse Button - Rotate
Page Up - Raise grid 1 layer
Page Down - Lower grid 1 layer
Awesome! Really like it, and I actually think it could be a successfull webgame besides being a minecraft planning tool…^^ I would play it, just to build things.xD
Thanks Mr Duskling! That’s the plan, at the bottom right there’s the screenshot button. It will take screenshots with various angles (top down, isometric, side, and front.
Since this will be a webplayer, thus having the 1mb player prefs limit and having no other actual save functionality, and that this is just a small project and will not spend time doing php scripts or data uploading, the saving function is only there to allow the player to continue his work passed one session of the program.
I can’t try it out, unity webplayer doesn’t work on this craptop. But if you don’t already have it, maybe a way to walk around the map in first person?
But yeah, I came back to it today and played it a bit. I didn’t take a picture of the goomba when I made it, but I took a picture of a nice little house in a yard with a tree
i’ll have to upload it to imageshack or something and show it ^.^
