Hi guys
I wonder if you can help me
I m helping out a charity called https://coderdojo.com/ that helps teach young kid how to program, in particular i attend the whitechapel one in london.
i was wondering if you could help me out put together a simple and cool tutorial that kids can use to learn about video game programming , coding and unity.
I was thinking a standart Pong game would do but i m open to suggestion
Pong is boring.

Maybe something like that – it’s colorful, goes quickly, and starts by doing game-like stuff before ever dipping down into any code. You can feel like you’re making a game very quickly, which is good for kids and attention-deficit people like me.

Yes jay, Pong is old school (I should know I’m that old I can remember the ZX81 err!! I had one).
You want something that will engage them, kids attention span is small so engaging them and keeping them is paramount, a little competition between the kids might be a good idea, you always find one kid want to out do his class mate, here they have chance to prove it on a friendly scale.
I would ask them what they want to do(only simple stuff) if you give them a project, they will probably loose interest, but if its their idea I’m assuming it might work.
I’m coding an old school game myself 1985 Gauntlet it’s a classic, but you wouldn’t believe how much their is to learn.
if you want more advice I’m happy to help in anyway I can.
thanks for the replies guys
