Simple 2d Sample destroys original?

Hi! I’m only really learning with shaders and have hit a problem with just using the sample 2d texture when trying to follow a tutorial.
I’ve pasted over the original image in the top left corner so you can see what the image is supposed to look like.
Any idea what is causing this? I’ve played with different shader types but always get this strange warped result that is barely recognisable from the original sprite.
I’m using URP.

Ignore this - newbie error - the graph editor fills in the transparent background with garbage but comes out fine on the preview
