Simul Weather SDK integration?

Can Simul Weather be integrated into Unity via it’s SDK?

You might be able to do that as a plugin, but that requires Unity Pro and would only be supported on the desktop (the web player doesn’t support plugins at all).

I’m actually really surprised to hear that, I thought that since Simul Weather was pretty much tied into Ogre it wouldn’t be possible. It sure would be nice if we could take some of the cool stuff done for Ogre and “port” it over to Unity somehow.

@Jeffrey - You might want to look at some of the work done in Unity to simulate animated clouds, rain, etc. With some tweaking and the right textures, it might be close enough for what you’re looking for.

Note that I said “might” as I’m not sure. All I did was a quick scan, saw that it’s a C++ SDK and punted to the “maybe via a plugin” answer, leaving it to the interested parties to really do the digging with that as a pointer to where they can start researching on the Unity side.

From the website: “The cloud system generates pure volumetric data, it is cross platform and renderer-independent.”

I’m guessing it’s possible.

There are a lot of Jeff Wilsons in the world… Which one are you referring to?

I’m from Huntsville, AL orginially…

Wait a sec, are you John from Treyarch when I was lead character artist (albeit for a short time)? If so, how are you? Did Quantum of Solace wipe you out?

Haha yeah, Qauntum wiped everyone out. They sent everyone to Luxoflux, then kicked all to the street. Oh well,… we’re all better off.

Damn… Well good to hear from ya, keep in touch man.

BTW, did you ever get those coat bones to work?

Coat bones!.. noooooo… lol… Too funny. We ended up just using the Call of Duty Rig, which consisted of a few external bones around the hips with set driven keys.
They didn’t have time for all of Soares big ideas… he was dreamin. …and soon later got the axe… chop chop
