Simulating ball physics like Pokemon Go

After following this tutorial, I’ve now a basic Pokemon catching scene but it’s still far from the original game.

I did some research but I couldn’t find anything that can help me improving it and make it more similar to Pokemon Go. I’m actually not interested in how it looks and/or animations, I’m trying to replicate ball’s physical behavior and maybe the circular aim reticle.

Unfortunately the topic is quite specific, and googling for things like that only brings useless tutorials on how to throw the ball in the original game.

Can someone help me replicating Pokemon Go’s Pokeball physics starting from the linked tutorial?
