A friend just mentioned to me how he wish there where more ‘normal looking’ interiors art on the asset store since the stuff he finds is mostly destroyed or horror interiors.
This made me think, what if Unity created some kind of site or addition to the Unity site where we could post ideas for assets we would like to see on the Asset Store. It can work similarly to the feedback site where we have votes to place into certain ideas.
A 3rd party could do this, I could do this, but the thing is we need people to know about this site for it to work. So if Unity added it and created links to it from the asset store more people would know about it and would give publishers and artists a way to see what the customers really need.
Would be nice to have a place to put such requests but I guess many won’t create an account on another site for just requests and it’s just complicated to separate it that much from the forums. So maybe just add another Subforum called Asset Requests and limit the amount of threads a user can open to one/week. Make rules that users who request have to put in [REQUEST] in topicname and those artists who want to know which of their ideas they should do next put in [VOTE] or something like that. I just know for sure it has to be limited how many threads can be opened by a single person in short time as there will be people who will request too often. Even I do request some better character system a bit often at different artists but I don’t open tons of threads for it. So imagine if I and 100+ people would for their requests. ^^
