Sketchup To Unity

Hello All

I have used sketchup for years and have gotten acustomed to it. Now i dont want any comments like “get a real program” or the like but it there a way to acurately export models from sketchup pro to unity without the loss of faces.

Thankyou

HaydenM

I use Sketchup for all my modeling (although, I’m probably going to have to go to something more robust for characters).

I have no issues exporting from Sketchup to Unity. I use .FBX and everything comes in just fine. The only time I have “missing faces” is when the normals are reversed in Sketchup. Make sure your normals are all facing the direction you want in Sketchup. Outward normals are white, inward normals are blue.

thankyou, i never knew what the difference between the blue and white was.

I’m actually thinking of downloading Sketchup. I have a question though, how would you get the textures into unity? Can you unwrap models in Sketchup?

personally when i export to a .fbx they auto export the textures. if not you could just find the texture file then import the jpeg into unity
