Skinned Cloth Help

Hello All,

Can anyone please help me in getting some help on how to assign skinned cloth to a cloth mesh for a rigged character. Also what are the requirements for the same. There is no help any where, I searched on google and got this link (http://blogs.unity3d.ru/2010/07/clothes/) but its in russian and even google cannot translate it properly to english.

Thanks in advance.

I also really struggled to get skinned cloth working, mostely thanks to the lack of information around. I got it working really nicely in the end so I should be able to answer any questions you have.

One really important point that I discovered is that your object cannot be re-scaled at all, it must have a scale of 1. If you need to re-scale the mesh then do it using the mesh importer settings.

Lack of information is an understatement if such a thing is possible. There used to be a samurai project posted in a thread somewhere but it’s no longer active : http://files.unity3d.com/jonas/SkinnedSamurai.zip . I messaged the Jonas administrator twice asking for an updated link but no joy. I’m curious as to whether or not you have a demo project zomby that others could learn from because there’s is nothing out there other than the docs.

I got my hands on that samurai project. I might still have it but I’m not sure. I’ve moved to a new hard drive since then so I can’t guarantee anything. I’ll have a look for it when I get home from work.

Hello all, thanks for the inputs. Zomby if you can share the samurai project it would be really helpful. Otherwise we can put a request on feedback for getting one sample project for Skinned Cloth.

What are kids using these days to host files ?

Hello Zomby, if you have google account, you can upload a zip file to google docs and make it public.

Google docs link to samuri.

THANKS Zomby, really appreciated.

Zomby’s the man!

I’ve struggled with the skinned cloth, especially since it doesn’t take collisions into account
