I like it. Are you going to add shadows to the tree and cacti, other than that it looks great.

I could add shadows, yeah. I hadn’t thought of that.

Looking good!

What’s the target hardware? I’d imagine you could increase the polycount on the cactus/trees since they look a bit low poly. The terrain that you got there is great, very stylish.

And yes, don’t forget shadows!

I agree looks very nice

But it could seriously benefit from “toonish lightmaps” to add a fair amount of depth.

Potentially that was meant with above shadows but wanted to add that in case above was targeted at realtime shadows

Infomercial - Target hardware is any computer. This game will be played in the Web Player.

Dreamora - I’ve never done a lightmap before, but yeah, I don’t have Pro; so I didn’t even consider realtime shadows.

You don’t need realtime shadows for this kind of game. Those shadow blobs will do just fine.

I like the artist style, makes it look fun and easy going. Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone.

Also, info, you think I should just blob shadow the cacti and tree? I did already do one for the cursor, and that looks pretty good. I could even do a different texture on the shadow projector to get a semblance of realtime shadows.

It depends really. If your have lots of objects that won’t move or have their lighting changed, then baking a shadow map for the scenery will do wonders. But for your scenery, a shadow blob works just as well.

I overhauled this whole topic, and added a new screenshot of the “Game Over Graveyard”. Neat, huh?

I nearly just started work on it, so it will be a little nicer than it is now.
